Accreditation    ESCS has dual accreditation with the Western Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Accreditation is a self study process which encompasses the entire scope of the school’s curriculum, policies, and procedures and involves input from the teaching staff, school board, parents, students, and administration. Admissions   ESCS serves the children and parents of this community by providing a strong traditional Christian education. While we would like to serve everyone, we understand that there are students with special needs beyond the scope of the school that may require referral to a more appropriate environment. Our Student Study Team (SST) format is a tool that can be used to plan strategies and determine resources for student success. (For further explanation of the SST see Appendix 2.)

Chapel   Chapel is held once a week. Teachers, students, principal, pastoral staff and invited guests lead the children in the worship of God. Parents are welcome to visit chapel programs .

Child Care and Extended Day   El Sobrante Christian School provides extended care for its students. Childcare is available on both campuses from 7:00 a.m. until school begins and until 6:00 p.m. following the end of the school day. Childcare is available every day school is in session. It is not available on holidays or scheduled school vacations. There is an additional charge for childcare; fees are listed on the Tuition and Fee Schedule.

Church Affiliation El Sobrante Christian Schools are owned and operated as a department of Central Assembly of God in El Sobrante. ESCS teaches all subjects from a strong Biblical Christian Worldview. God’s word is the source of all Truth and is the solid foundation from which Christian Education begins. ESCS is open to students and families of all faiths and denominations with the knowledge that an evangelical Christian education is what students will receive here.

Emergency Procedures    ESCS has extensive plans to meet major emergency situations, should they occur. We have in place, fire, earthquake and emergency evacuation procedures. Students and teachers are advised of the plans and participate in drills on a regular basis throughout the school year. We are also part of the Contra Costa County emergency alert system. The safety of our students and staff is of utmost concern to ESCS and we will continue to practice safety and preparedness in an ongoing effort to be ready, should an emergency arise..

Fine Arts and Enrichment Classes As part of our regular curriculum, ESCS K-5 students participate in 2 musical programs each year. These are always a highlight at Christmas and in the spring.  Learn more...

Parent Online Access (RenWeb)   We offer RenWeb as an online service to our parents and students. For a very reasonable yearly fee, parents can sign on to Renweb and thereby gain access to a variety of services such as: Teachers daily lesson plans, access to grades, progress reports and report cards, homework assignments, and email to teaching staff and administration. This has become an essential tool for parents and students. It is totally secure and is parent password controlled.

Student Resources    ESCS provides a strong academic education which meets or exceeds CA State Standards in curricular areas. Most students who are average and above do well at ESCS. We do not have extensive resources to meet the needs of students whose needs are beyond the scope of the average classroom teacher and situation. We have a Student Study Team which meets throughout the year on an as needed basis in order to give support to the students, parents and classroom teacher. Support ideas, tutoring, and or referrals for other assistance could result from SST meetings.
